If you started crying over the idea that Plastic Beach is the final album from Gorillaz then let me hand you a digital tissue.

Damon Albarn said in an interview with Spinner that he recorded so many pieces of music for the Plastic Beach sessions that he could release two sequels if he’s motivated to do it.

“I recorded an awful lot of music for this record, about 80 pieces of music in total,” Albarn said. “So, theoretically there is a part two and part three of Plastic Beach if we ever felt motivated to spend another few years finishing it.”

Albarn added, “But because it’s so eclectic, it takes a long time to actually get a picture because we don’t start with a picture or an idea. We start with a very loose idea of Plastic Beach, which, you know, probably means something different to me than it does to Jamie [Hewlett], but we evolve.”

I’m gonna go ahead and vote in the YES column for more Gorillaz music. If they can actually release more music that’s just as good as what was on Plastic Beach then keep it coming. Who’s gonna say no to animated primates that rock?

If it wasn’t enough that Gorillaz new album, Plastic Beach, hit the internet today for our listening pleasure, we now have the first music video from the band for their song “Stylo”.

We see the primates Murdoc, 2-D and Noodle in three dimensional goodness as they race down a desert highway from a cop and…Bruce Willis?! Was this video supposed to be a promotion for his new movie Cop Out?

Have you been anticipating the new Gorillaz album Plastic Beach? Have you been heading over to their website every day for new updates and new pirate broadcasts from head Gorilla Murdoc Niccals? Wait no longer, kiddies, because the new album is down below.

With the new album in stores out on March 9, NPR decided to make dreams come true by streaming the whole album so you could get your fix before buying the hell out of this record.

You may have to give this one a couple of listens to get your head around though. This album incorporates so many elements; everything from hip-hop to arabic music and everything in-between. Murdoc heads to Plastic Beach

The viral video goodness for Gorillaz new album Plastic Beach is escalating. Up top you can check out a video of lead primate Murdoc Niccals making his way to plastic beach with a suitcase full of cash and some spirits (via Some Kind Of Awesome).

But an unknown foe has it in for Murdoc as you’ll see. I don’t know how these videos will end but I’m sure it’ll be something big when March 9th hits.

Gorillaz are playing the Coachella festival later this year in April. If you wondering what an animated band might look like live then this may help you out.

If you’re not hyped up about Gorillaz new album Plastic Beach then you and I can no longer be friends. That’s just the way it is. If you don’t like it then there’s the door. I suggest you use it. For those of you that are stoked about the animated primates and their batch of new songs then get comfortable.

Up top is a brand new orchestral trailer that gives a more in depth look at the plastic beach where the band recorded the new record. Furthermore, lead gorilla Murdoc Niccals hacked into AOL Radio today and broadcast his own radio show where he debuted a new track from the album that he lovingly entitled “Pink Stinkfish”. You can hear a snippet of the track right over here.

The album, which comes out on March 9th, will also be released in what is called an “Experience Edition” (via CoS). It’s a combination CD/DVD which will come with a 45-minute documentary that chronicles the making of the album and the DVD will also allow you to gain access to specific online games and extra features. The features include a Plastic Beach online game, a stream of a Gorillaz performance, wallpapers, artwork and more.

Sadly, with all this good news, there is a bit of a downer. The website Gorillaz-Unofficial came across an article done in the Belgian newspaper Le Soir that says Plastic Beach will be the final album from Gorillaz. However it also says that a tour is currently in the works.

I think I’ve excited you enough for one Gorillaz post. Head over to the band’s website if you want to hear the first radio broadcast from Murdoc. It’s definitely radio at its finest.

Gorillaz leak new song and info on Plastic Beach

See what happens when I tell you guys to follow Murdoc’s tweets? The cheeky member of the animated band Gorillaz released this nugget of joy just today.

A leak! A leak! Plastic Beach has sprung a leak! One of those Russian pirates has put a bullet hole on my island! My single’s leaked! STYLO!

Indeed, the new single from Gorillaz hit the world wide interwebs hard today and it’s a kickass listen. The song, entitled “Stylo”, is one of the tracks on the group’s brand new album Plastic Beach which is out later this year.

Damon Albarn aka 2-D of the Gorillaz just announced all the details of Plastic Beach (thanks to CoS). The album is out on March 6th and has a pretty cool cast of collaborators. Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, De La Soul, Bobby Womack and others will be lending their vocals to the musical stylings of the animated primates. The full trackisting for the album is below the song. The cover art for the album is right under this sentence.

As for “Stylo”, the song definitely brings the funk and it doesn’t hurt that Mos Def and Bobby Womack appear on the track as well. Wanna give it a listen? Of course you do so hit that play button down below and get your animated groove on.
