First and foremost, a big congratulations to the New Orleans Saints for their massive Super Bowl victory over the Indianapolis Colts. The team and the city deserved it and Mardi Gras is kicking off early on Bourbon Street. My guess is no one is going to work anytime soon down there.

But another congratulations goes out to rock n’ roll for the halftime performance by The Who. While it wasn’t the most exciting or energetic halftime show (that honor goes to Bruce Springsteen) it was still a solid performance from Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.

Their medley consisted of the songs “Pinball Wizard”, “Baba O’Riley”, “Who Are You?”, the closing of “Tommy” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.

Check out the video of the full performance up top courtesy of my buddy The Audio Perv. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

If the flyer below has any type of impact come Super Bowl weekend then residents will be shuffling their kids into their homes and locking their doors because Pete Townshend is in town and he’s out to do terrible things to the children of South Beach.

The group known as Protect Our Children, Inc. distributed this flyer to residents who live near Sun Life Stadium where the The Who will be performing during the halftime show. Because apparently, according to these people, Townshend is gonna go out and grab himself a few kids right around the first quarter of the game.

Townshend was arrested in 2003 for child pornography and became a registered sex offender in the U.K. The flyer claims that he will be at large in Miami and that he is not expected to establish a residency in this country. Phew! For a minute there I thought this massive rock star was going to buy himself a shitty home in Miami and leave his life of luxury in England behind him all so that he can get a taste of young American kids.

After seeing this flyer I now am absolutely positive that certain people just should not breed at all.

If you were wondering what The Who were going to play at this year’s Super Bowl’s halftime show then just ask Pete Townshend.

Billboard recently spoke with the non-secret keeping guitarist and he revealed the band’s set list for their global performance.

“We’re kinda doing a mashup of stuff,” Townshend said. “A bit of ‘Baba O’Riley,’ a bit of ‘Pinball Wizard,’ a bit of the close of ‘Tommy,’ a bit of ‘Who Are You,’ and a bit of ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again.’ It works — it’s quite a saga. A lot of the stuff that we do has that kind of celebratory vibe about it — we’ve always tried to make music that allows the audience to go a bit wild if they want to. Hopefully it will hit the spot.”

Super Bowl XLIV will air on Sunday, February 7th on CBS. We here at the RiO!B would like to voice our support for the New Orleans Saints in this contest. Who Dat?!
