Coheed and Cambria, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and more appearing on Batman: Arkham City soundtrack

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

Normally, when I talk about video game soundtracks it's primarily me reflecting on classic Nintendo theme songs from my youth. Video game soundtracks covered on the RiO!B were either from Guitar Hero (RIP) or Rock Band (RIP as well) or the new installments of Madden. But a new and unexpected player has entered the discussion and may raise some eyebrows...or I guess in this case, cowl brows.
Batman: Arkham City is a game… Read More

Watch: The Boxer Rebellion – “The Runner”

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

I can never say enough about The Boxer Rebellion. Every time I listen to these guys, it makes me wish I were still a musician. Fantastic songs are in abundant supply on their new album, The Cold Still, and up top is the video for the single, "The Runner."
I have to stress that the video is NSFW since it involves two attractive ladies engaging in what can only be described as "making out with each other and occasionally getting naked on camera." But the story of two lovers who see their relationship dissolve while… Read More

Watch: The Boxer Rebellion on David Letterman

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

One of my all time faves, The Boxer Rebellion, finally got to play in front of the whole country for the first time on Late Night with David Letterman last night. TBR rocked their new single, "Step Out Of The Car," from their new album, The Cold Still, which is in stores right now. It's recommended you pick up the album immediately...as a matter of fact, I'm heading to the store right now. Watch the video up top courtesy of The… Read More

The Boxer Rebellion releasing new album in February

Friday, November 12th, 2010

One of my favorite up and coming bands, The Boxer Rebellion, have announced the release of a new album called The Cold Still via their own label, Absentee Recordings.
It's due in stores on February 8th and follows their previous album, Union, which you should absolutely listen to when you get the chance. It was named iTunes Alternative Album of the Year for 2009 and charted in the top 5 of the iTunes Album Charts all without the use of… Read More

The Boxer Rebellion announce North American headlining tour

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010
It really does fill me with pride when I see a band that I interviewed start to blow up. Especially The Boxer Rebellion. They're such nice guys who genuinely appreciate what they do and the opportunities that come their way. Everyone should listen to them.

Actually, everyone should go and check them out as they'll be touring North America for the first time as a headlining act. The guys will kick… Read More

The Boxer Rebellion featured on “Going The Distance” soundtrack

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

I'm so glad when bands I've interviewed get more exposure. Especially The Boxer Rebellion because not only are these guys a kick-ass band but they're also genuinely great guys.
TBR are appearing on the soundtrack for the Drew Barrymore film Going The Distance which looks like it'll be another soundtrack that indie-kids will have on their shelves. Other bands on the OST include Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Passion Pit, Band of Skulls, Cat… Read More
