Hey you! Got six hours to kill? How about listening to the new song from the Flaming Lips? That’s right…song. As in, one song. Singular.

The track, “I Found a Star On The Ground,” can be heard down below and in three parts. Each part being two hours long, this song is an exercise in auditory stamina since listening to it takes up 1/4 of a day. Plus, if you were a massive Lips fan that really wanted to inject yourself into their music, you could have had your name put into the song for a $100 donation.

Anyways, if you’ve got time, check out the track. Weezer, Flaming Lips teaming up for two shows

Well here’s an interesting combination that disturbingly seems to work. On July 28th and 29th in New Jersey and New York, Weezer, The Flaming Lips and Yeasayer will deliver a one-two-three combo to your braindome. The bands will first perform at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ on the 28th and at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY on the 29th. Tickets for this wonderful musical clusterfuck go on sale May 7th at Ticketmaster (via CoS).

Following these shows, all three bands will go their own separate ways and you’ll wake up the next day wondering if what you just saw actually happened. For the record…it did. And you loved it.

See those skulls right there? Those skulls are made of gummy bear material along with the exposed brain that kinda looks like a vagina embedded into a cranium. In any case, deep within the vagina brains are usb flash drives with new songs from the Flaming Lips and those skulls were recently sold by frontman Wayne Coyne to a few lucky fans.

Coyne personally sold five of the skulls at $150 each to the first five fans who showed up at Oklahoma City’s Guestroom Records on 4/20. On the usb drives were four songs – “Drug Chart,” “In Our Bodies, In Our Heads,” “Walk With Me” and “Hillary’s Time Machine Machine.”

Both of the songs, “Drug Chart” and “In Our Bodies,” can be heard down below thanks to Psych Explorations of the Future Heart.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Flaming Lips would like to present, for your viewing and listening pleasure…Two Blobs Fucking.

The Lips have posted 12 tracks coupled with video at their YouTube page which is meant to be a stimulating visual/audio experience. The way the “album” is meant to be played is continuously to create one song. The visuals are meant to fuck with you, as the Lips are a band that likes to play with your eyeballs. What’s the end result of the album? I have no idea but down below you can watch an instructional video from Wayne Coyne to show you how to get the most out of the album. Good luck.

Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie headlining Sasquatch festival

The 10th anniversary of the Sasquatch music festival, which takes place in George, Washington, is going to have quite the lineup this year. For starters, Foo Fighters, Death Cab For Cutie, Wilco, Modest Mouse and The Flaming Lips are headlining this installment, which runs from May 27-30. Furthermore, Flaming Lips will play their 1999 album, The Soft Bulletin, in its entirety.

But that’s not all! You also get the Decemberists, Death From Above 1979, Chromeo, Guided By Voices, Wolf Parade, Iron and Wine, Against Me!, Flogging Molly, Cold War Kids, Sleigh Bells, Best Coast, !!! and way more. The full lineup can be seen right over here.
