First round of SXSW 2011 performers announced

South by Southwest 2011 is going to be an amazing time for me. Not just because we have our very own panel during the music portion of the festival but because the first batch of performers was announced and it’s looking quite promising.

Among the more prominent acts appearing in Austin next year include A Place To Bury Strangers, Klaxons, Toro Y Moi, Jon Fratelli formerly of The Fratellis, Starfucker, MSTRKRFT and many others. The full list can be seen at the SXSW website. The music portion runs from March 16-20 and if you saw our SXSW coverage from earlier this year, you know it’s a damn good time when we party in Texas.

There’s also a plan forming for the RiO!B to team up with some other sites for a possible SXSW party. More details on that as it begins to be put together…which reminds me, I have to call those guys.

RiO!B at SXSW – Day 2 (March 17, 2010)

The first day of the music portion of SXSW also happened to land on St. Patrick’s Day which is a double dose of insanity.

Between all the drunken tomfoolery, there were a bunch of great bands that played. I was lucky to catch shows from Toro Y Moi, Real Estate, Vanaprasta and Jason Collett from Broken Social Scene.
