Behold your rock music Grammy nominees

Well there it is. The Grammy. The award that artists strive to win and the one that bloggers and fans hate. Primarily because, as fans, we feel that OUR favorite bands deserve all the accolades and fuck the rest. But this award ceremony offers us a place to vent our frustrations and reaffirm our hatred for genres and artists we can’t stand. There’s gonna be a lot of hate for one Justin Bieber again…even if he isn’t nominated for anything.

Regardless, it’s my job to make sure all of you freaks know who’s up for the golden gramophone this time around when it comes to our beloved rock and roll. So down below are all the categories that feature rock bands and artists that have been nominated.

The Grammys take place on February 12th at 8pm EST on CBS. Here’s hoping we get another Arcade Fire winning best album of the year moment again.

Wilco releases tour dates for 2012

New album means tour dates. Wilco is following the formula and have announced quite a few dates in 2012 that will place the band primarily in the midwest and on the west coast. The tour kicks off on November 29th in Dallas, TX and will end on February 10th in Santa Barbara, CA. All of the dates are listed down below and Wilco’s new album, The Whole Love, is in stores right now.

Up top, ladies and gents, is the new video from Wilco for the song “Born Alone” from their forthcoming album, The Whole Love, which is out on September 27th. The video takes you on a road trip while splicing in photos of what looks like ancient studio equipment and other miscellaneous items as well as footage of the band playing together. Push play and nod your head to a pretty good song.

Hey look! Wilco is finally back and they’ll release their brand new studio album, The Whole Love, on September 27th via their own record label, dBpm Records. Included on this album are the tracks “I Might” as well as new songs “Born Alone” and “Dawned on Me”. You can check out “I Might” down below if you haven’t already heard it.

Also, Wilco is touring North America starting this September. It’ll kick off on September 13th in Indianapolis, IN and end on October 5th in Madison, WI. All the dates are listed down below.

You know you’ve been dreaming about this. Wilco has released its newest single, “I MIght,” from its forthcoming LP which is currently untitled. The single is also the band’s first release from its brand new label, dBpm Records. The track will be released on vinyl July 19th with the b-side being a cover of the song “I Love My Label” by Nick Lowe. Check out “I Might” over at Let’s Just Get to the Good Part. Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cutie headlining Sasquatch festival

The 10th anniversary of the Sasquatch music festival, which takes place in George, Washington, is going to have quite the lineup this year. For starters, Foo Fighters, Death Cab For Cutie, Wilco, Modest Mouse and The Flaming Lips are headlining this installment, which runs from May 27-30. Furthermore, Flaming Lips will play their 1999 album, The Soft Bulletin, in its entirety.

But that’s not all! You also get the Decemberists, Death From Above 1979, Chromeo, Guided By Voices, Wolf Parade, Iron and Wine, Against Me!, Flogging Molly, Cold War Kids, Sleigh Bells, Best Coast, !!! and way more. The full lineup can be seen right over here.

Jack White ain’t the only rocker with his own kick ass label anymore. Wilco have gotten into the game and formed their own record label called dBpm Records (via CoS). The label’s releases will be marketed and distributed via Anti- Records.

Frontman Jeff Tweedy said in a statement that the label is an idea that Wilco has talked about for a while. “We really like doing things ourselves,” said Tweedy. “So having our own label feels pretty natural to me. And, to be working with ANTI- a label that has its roots in a label that was started by a punk rock guy to sell his own records seems like a perfect fit for us.”

The band left their label, Nonesuch Records, back in 2009 and seem to be headed down the indie route. They’re apparently working on their next studio album and have released tour dates for 2011 already which include headlining the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Check out the dates down below.
